Essar Steel Ltd

Our place is at Rz-706, on Street No. 17, right across from the Vishvanath Mandir in Sadh Nagar. This is in the Palam Colony area of New Delhi, 110045. Being near the temple means we hear the bells and the prayers every day, which is a nice backdrop to the work we do at Essar Steel Ltd. The street is usually quite narrow and full of people, so getting large deliveries in can be a bit of a challenge. We don’t have a shiny glass office. It’s a practical building in a busy neighborhood. Inside, you’ll find a few desks, some old filing cabinets, and a lot of talk about steel prices and transport routes. Delhi weather is always a bit extreme, either freezing in the winter or boiling in the summer, so the office is our little shelter. We don’t use any fancy language to describe what we do. We just help move steel from one place to another. Most of the people working here have lived in Palam for years. We know the shopkeepers on Street 17 and we know when the traffic is going to be at its worst. It’s a very local, down-to-earth operation. We don’t have a big mission or a vision; we just want to get through the day's paperwork and make sure the steel gets where it needs to go. It is just life in Palam Colony.
