Capital Photo Color Lab

We have been at S-21 in the Green Park Main Market for quite some time. If you know the market, you know it can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends. Our lab is where we spend our days dealing with photos and colors. It’s a bit of an old-school trade in a way, but we use the digital tools too. The smell of the shop is something you get used to, a mix of paper and ink. We see a lot of memories come through here. People bring in old family photos that need a bit of work or files from their cameras they want to see on actual paper. It’s a small shop, so things are stacked a bit high sometimes. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just rely on people knowing where we are in the market. The light in the shop isn’t always the best, but we have our specialized lamps for checking the prints. Sometimes customers stay and chat while they wait for their stuff. It’s a local business through and through. We’ve seen the market change over the years, shops coming and going, but we’re still here at S-21. It’s not a glamorous job, but there’s something nice about seeing a finished print look exactly the way it should. We just keep our heads down and do the work, day after day, making sure the colors are as right as we can get them for the people here.
