Savoi Plantation

Our place is Savoi Plantation, located out in Ponda, Goa. It’s a bit different from the beach scenes most people think of when they hear about Goa. We are inland, where the hills are and the soil is rich. The plantation has been around for quite a long time. We grow all sorts of things like spices, coconuts, and betel nuts. It’s a lot of outdoor work, obviously. We spend our days tending to the trees and making sure the crops are healthy in Ponda. The weather can be a bit much during the monsoon, but that’s what makes everything grow so green in India. People sometimes come by to see how a real Goan plantation works. We show them around, but at the end of the day, it’s a working farm. We don’t use any high-tech gadgets or corporate jargon. It’s just about the land and what it produces. Ponda is a quiet area, and we like the peace out here. We’ve got a small team that knows the plants well. We handle the harvesting and the drying of the spices ourselves. It’s a slow process, but you can’t rush nature. We just do things the way they’ve always been done on this land. It’s a simple life, focused on the seasons and the harvest. We’re proud of what we grow here in the heart of the Goan countryside and we hope to keep it going for many more years to come.
