About Santosh Kumar Mishra – Engineering in South Goa
You can find Santosh Kumar Mishra’s operation over at Berth No.-5A & 6A in the Mormugao Harbour. It’s a very specific kind of place to work. Being at the harbour means everything is governed by the ships, the tides, and the constant movement of cargo. It’s industrial, it’s noisy, and it’s usually quite salty from the sea air. We don’t have an office in a traditional sense. Our place is the berth and the storage areas around it. It’s a lot of physical presence and making sure things are where they are supposed to be. We’ve been working at the Mormugao port for a long time, so we know the rhythms of the harbour pretty well. It’s not a polished environment. There’s grease, there’s metal, and there’s always a lot of heavy machinery moving around. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing brochure. Our reputation is built on being there at the berth when the ships come in and getting the job done regardless of the weather. It can be quite a tough place to work during the monsoon, but we’ve managed it for years. It’s just me and a few others who know the ropes. We don’t use big words to describe what we do. We just handle the logistics and the manual work that comes with being at a major port. It’s honest, hard work, and that’s about it for us.
