Sankaw Clinic

Sankaw Clinic is on the first floor of the Carmelina Building, right across from the Municipal Market in Quepem. Being so close to the market means it’s always lively outside. You can hear the vendors shouting and the smell of fresh produce comes up to the windows sometimes. We’ve been in this building for a while now. It’s a simple setup. You walk up the stairs and we are right there. The clinic is small, just a couple of rooms for consultations. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. Most people come in after they finish their morning shopping at the market. It’s convenient for them. We see a lot of familiar faces from around Quepem. Our desk is usually piled with papers and the chairs in the waiting area are the basic plastic ones. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s clean and it serves the purpose. We do regular checkups and help people with their daily health issues. The staff here is just a few locals who live nearby. We like being in the middle of everything in town. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the traffic outside, but we’re used to it by now. It feels like a real part of the community here. We don't use a lot of medical jargon with people; we just tell it like it is. There is no corporate polish here, just a simple clinic in an old building.
