Melcon Teixeira Foundation

You can find Melcon Teixeira Foundation at House No. 993 in Novo Palmar, Cortalim. This part of Mormugao is where we grew up, so it felt right to set up here. The house is where we do all our planning and meeting. It’s not a business park or a tech hub, just a regular house in a regular South Goa neighborhood. We have a few chairs out front where we sit and talk to anyone who stops by. Most of the time, we are just trying to figure out how to help the families around here with the everyday struggles they face. It’s not always easy and we don't have all the answers. Sometimes we spend the whole day just listening to people’s stories. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, just a couple of old desks and a printer that jams way too often. The neighborhood is quiet, except for when the train goes by or the local dogs start barking. We like the pace of life here in Cortalim. It allows us to actually get to know the people we are trying to help. We aren't interested in being a big name. We just want to be the people at number 993 that you can count on when things get difficult. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning till night. We might not look like much, but we are dedicated to our little corner of the world.
