Our clinic is located at Shop No 708 in Pintos Vaddo, which is right in the middle of Candolim. You can find us pretty easily because we are right opposite the HDFC Bank and situated right beside the Canara Bank. Dr. Poonam R. Vernekar is the one who runs the Ayurveda Elixir Clinic here in the Bardez area. This is a place where we use old-fashioned oils, herbs, and traditional methods. The shop almost always smells like warm sesame oil or sandalwood, which makes it feel a bit different from the busy street outside. We get a mix of local residents and some tourists who are staying nearby in Candolim. It isn't a big, fancy spa for pampering; it is a real clinic where we look at what is wrong and try to help using Ayurvedic principles. Sometimes the ceiling fans are a bit noisy, but they keep the air moving through the rooms. We have wooden tables for the treatments and plenty of shelves packed with various herbal powders and bottled tonics. It is a very practical setup. We don't spend our money on large advertisements or fancy signs. We just open up the shop and help whoever walks through the door. Being located between two banks means there is always a lot of activity and people around. We just do our work, prepare the oils, and see our regular patients every single day we are open.
