Mavourneen Apparels Private Limited

N-34, Kalkaji. Lower ground floor. It's a basement, really. Cooler in the summer, but you need the lights on all day. South Delhi is expensive, so we make the most of this space. We do apparels. Piles of cotton, some silk. The phone rings a lot. Mostly logistics people asking for directions. Kalkaji has so many blocks, people always get lost. We tell them to look for the big park nearby. We have about six people in the office. It’s tight but we are friends. We eat lunch together. Someone brings parathas, someone brings dal. The work is steady. We handle orders from all over. Sometimes the rain floods the street a bit, and we have to make sure the boxes are off the floor. That's the risk of being on the lower ground. But we like the area. There’s good food just around the corner. We’ve been here at N-34 for a few years now. The name Mavourneen is hard for people to say, so we usually just say the garment office to the delivery boys. We don't spend money on fancy signs. We just do our work, pack the bags, and send them out. It’s a lot of folding and tagging. My back hurts by the end of the day, but seeing the finished clothes makes it okay. It is a simple business where we just try to keep our heads down and work.
