Our office is situated on the 12th floor of Devika Tower, which is one of the many big buildings in Nehru Place. If you know Delhi, you know Nehru Place is basically the hub for everything related to computers and electronics, but we’re here doing fashion work. Being on the 12th floor means we have to deal with the elevators, which can be quite slow during the morning rush. The office itself at number 1218 is a bit small, but we’ve managed to fit all our desks and a few racks for clothes. It’s mostly just us sitting at our computers or looking at different fabric swatches. We have a lot of samples hanging up, and it can get a bit crowded when we get new stuff in. The view from the window is actually quite nice; you can see a lot of the city, though it’s mostly just other rooftops and the constant flow of cars below. It gets very busy around lunch because of all the food stalls downstairs, and the whole area smells like fried food and chai. We don’t have a big reception area or any fancy decorations. It’s just a practical workspace where we can focus on our tasks. Most of our day is spent coordinating with suppliers and making sure our designs are on track. It’s a hectic place to be, but we like the energy. We just keep our heads down and get through the list.
