House Of Aum. We are up on the 3rd floor in Shahpur Jat. If you know 213-B, you know those stairs are no joke. We climb them several times a day. Shahpur Jat is full of narrow lanes and creative people. Our office is a bit cramped because we have so many fabric rolls and sketches lying around. We try to keep a corner clear for the sewing machines. The view from the third floor is just other rooftops and wires. It’s a bit messy with threads on the floor and scraps of cloth everywhere. We spend most of our time debating about colors and cuts. It’s not a polished corporate office at all. We have an old sofa where we sit and eat our tiffin. The windows are usually open to let the air in, but it gets noisy from the street below. We’ve got some bright lights so we can see the small details. Sometimes we lose our scissors under a pile of material and everyone has to stop and look for them. It’s a bit chaotic but we get the orders finished. Most of our day is just cutting and checking things. We don’t have a receptionist. If someone knocks, one of us just gets up and opens the door. It’s a small operation. We focus on what’s in front of us and try to stay organized.
