Bhavyakirti Couture Private Limited

We are tucked away in the basement of number 98 in Sukhdev Vihar. It’s a lot quieter here than in the main commercial hubs of Delhi, which is nice when we need to concentrate on the details. At Bhavyakirti Couture, the atmosphere is usually filled with the sound of sewing machines and the occasional iron steaming. Since we are in a basement, we have to keep the lights on all day, but it stays relatively cool even when the sun is hitting the street above. We have racks and racks of clothes waiting for their final touches. It’s a small team, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. One minute you’re cutting fabric, and the next you’re answering the door. We don’t have a big sign outside, so people usually have to look for the address specifically. It feels more like a workshop than a store. We have some chairs for people to sit, but they’re usually covered in scrap fabric or pins. We try to stay organized, but when we have a big deadline, things get a bit chaotic. There’s a lot of hand-finishing that happens here, which takes time and patience. We don’t rush things because we want the clothes to look right. It’s a steady pace, and we’ve gotten to know the neighbors pretty well over the years. It’s just our little corner of the world.
