If you come down to Lajpat Nagar-I and find F-87, go up to the second floor and that is us. Vesman Facility Management Privatelimited operates out of this space, and it usually feels pretty lived-in. There are always keys hanging on the wall and clipboards sitting on the desks. We’ve been in this area for some time, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. It’s a good place to work from because everything is close by. We handle the day-to-day stuff for various properties. It might be making sure the elevators are working or that the hallways are swept. It’s not exactly the kind of stuff you write a book about, but it’s important work for the people living and working in those buildings. We try to be sensible about how we run things. There’s no point in making things more complicated than they need to be. If a light is out, we fix it. If a drain is clogged, we clear it. Our team is small, so we all end up doing a bit of everything. The shop downstairs sells some good snacks, so we usually end up there around four o'clock for a short break. Sometimes the office gets a bit cramped when everyone is back from their sites at the same time, but we manage. We aren’t big on fancy meetings; we usually just talk things over while having lunch or a quick cup of chai. It’s a straightforward way to live.
