Shift Indo Foundation

Shift Indo Foundation is spread across a couple of spots, but you’ll often find us at N-31, Nivedita Kunj in Sector-10, R.K. Puram, or over at the basement in D 827, New Friends Colony. Having these spaces in South Delhi helps us reach different people. We aren't a high-rise corporate outfit. In fact, working out of a basement in New Friends Colony keeps us pretty humble. It’s just a regular workspace where we pile up our books and papers. We don't have a marketing department telling us what to say, so we just speak our minds. Most of us have been around Delhi our whole lives and we’ve seen how much things change. We wanted to be part of that change in a way that actually helps. It’s not always glamorous work. A lot of it is just logistics and talking to people on the phone. We try to keep things moving forward without making too much of a fuss. The team is small, and we all wear many hats. One day we might be doing research, and the next we’re helping out with something practical on the street. We don’t have any fancy mission statements plastered on the walls. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and go home. It’s a simple way to run a foundation, but it works for us. We're just trying to be useful in the city where we grew up.
