Our place is up on the fourth floor at C-99 in Abulfazal Enclave-II. If you’re coming from Shaheen Bagh or Jamia Nagar, you know how crowded these streets get. It’s a lot of stairs to climb since we are at the top, but the view of Okhla isn't too bad once you get there. Salamat Ali’s son started things here, and we’ve just stayed put. It’s a simple setup. We have a few desks and some chairs that don't always match. We spend our days talking to people from the neighborhood. Most people just drop by because they heard about us from a neighbor. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth is usually enough for what we do. The office gets a bit warm in the summer, so the fan is always running. We mostly just listen to what people need and see if we can point them in the right direction. It’s not anything grand. We don’t have a big team, just a few local folks who know the area well. Sometimes we run out of tea, and someone has to run down to the local shop. Life here is pretty quiet most of the time, except when the kids are playing in the street below. We just try to be helpful when someone knocks on the door. It’s just us doing what we can from this small room on the fourth floor. We don't have much, but we have enough space for everyone.
