Nirbhau Naari Suraksha Foundation

You can find us at 201, 1St Floor Jorbagh. It’s a nice, quiet part of the city compared to some of the busier markets. The Nirbhau Naari Suraksha Foundation is based here, and we’ve tried to make the space feel welcoming. It’s not a huge office, just a couple of rooms where we sit and handle things. Most of the time, the air is just filled with the sound of typing or someone chatting on the phone. We work on things related to safety and helping women, but we don't make a big show of it. We just do the work. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit steep, so we tell everyone to watch their step. We have a lot of books and folders piled up because we haven't quite figured out a better way to store everything yet. It’s a very human place. Sometimes we have long debates over how to handle a specific situation, and other times we just sit in silence and get the files organized. We aren't corporate people; we are just residents who wanted to start something useful in Jorbagh. It’s a bit slow sometimes, and other times it’s a total scramble, but that is just how a small foundation operates. We are just here doing our bit every day. It’s a small operation, and we don't have fancy uniforms, but we are easy enough to find if you are looking for our door.
