MOUNTAIN PASHMEENA REARING PRIVATE LIMITED

We are based over in Lajpat Nagar, at 1-A-171. It’s a well-known area in Delhi, and we’ve been here for some time now. Our work focuses on pashmeena, which is something we take seriously but in a very low-key way. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep our records and talk to people. We have deep roots in what we do, and we don't feel the need to shout about it. Most of our day is spent coordinating with people who actually rear the animals and manage the wool. It involves a lot of patience and waiting for the right seasons. Lajpat Nagar is always bustling with shoppers and traffic, so stepping into our office feels a bit like a break from all that noise. We keep things very traditional here. We don't use much high-tech equipment, mostly just our hands and some old-fashioned scales. We like the tactile nature of the work. Sometimes we have visitors who want to see the wool, and we just sit them down and show them what we have without any sales pitch. The material usually speaks for itself, so we don't do much talking. It’s a slow business in a fast city, and we are perfectly happy with that pace of life. We focus on the simple things. The fans hum all day and the tea is usually hot.
