Our office is down in the basement of E-21 in Kalkaji. It’s a bit of a climb down the stairs and since it's a basement, we don't get much natural light, but it stays a bit cooler in the summer months. We deal with vitrified tiles. The whole place is basically a storage room for tile samples of all different colors and sizes. It’s heavy stuff, so there’s a lot of lifting involved when we show samples to anyone who drops by. Kalkaji is a busy neighborhood, so parking is always a bit of a nightmare around the building. We spend our time talking to dealers and checking stock levels on the computer. It’s not a shiny showroom like you see in the big malls. It’s more of a working office where we get the orders sorted and handle the billing. Sometimes the basement gets a bit damp if it rains hard, but we keep the tiles up on pallets so it’s fine. We have a small staff and we’ve been working out of this Kalkaji spot for a while now. We don't do anything fancy, just supply tiles to people who are building or fixing up their homes. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and phone calls, but we like being in this part of South Delhi. The neighbors are nice and we usually get our lunch from the little stalls nearby. It's just a regular tile business run from a basement without any fuss.
