We are based at 711/92, Deepalinehru Place. If you have ever been around this part of the city, you know it is a mess of people, computers, and cars. It is a hectic place to have an office, but it keeps us on our toes. Homekraft Happy Homes Llp is run from this busy little corner. We call it 'Happy Homes' but really we just mean we try to build places where things work like they should. A tap that doesn't drip and a floor that is level is what we aim for. We aren't architects with big dreams; we are more like the people who make those dreams actually stand up. The office is usually full of the smell of tea and the sound of someone arguing on the phone with a supplier about a late delivery of tiles. That is just the way it goes here. We don't have a glossy brochure or a mission statement pinned to the wall. Our walls are covered in schedules and phone numbers of plumbers and electricians. It is a practical business. We work hard, we go home tired, and we come back the next morning to do it again. Sometimes we get things wrong, but we always go back and fix them. That is the only way to stay in business in a city like New Delhi for very long. It takes a lot of energy to keep everything moving, but we managed to make it work for us even when things get stressful.
