Akolam Foods Private Limited

We run Akolam Foods out of Gautam Nagar. It’s right there on the ground floor of Saira Tower at N-161. If you know the area, it’s usually pretty packed with cars and people walking to the park. We spend most of our mornings checking the crates and making sure the kitchen area is clean before the day really kicks off. It isn't a huge space, but it works for what we do. We started this thing because we all worked in food before and figured we could do it on our own. Some days are better than others. Last Tuesday the power went out for two hours and we just sat there waiting for the generator to kick in properly. It’s just how things go around here in South Delhi. We deal with suppliers, handle the packaging, and try to keep the paperwork from piling up too high on the desk. The office part is just a small corner with a laptop that has a sticky 'Enter' key. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything, just some aprons and comfortable shoes because we're on our feet a lot. Gautam Nagar has a lot of energy, and being in the tower means we see a lot of different people coming and going. We just focus on getting the food side of things right. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting bags and sorting through stuff. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to run a decent business and pay our bills on time.
