Aabe Kausar Foundation

Aabe Kausar Foundation is tucked away in Shaheen Bagh, Jamia Nagar. We are in Peace Apartment, which is building F - 184. Our actual office is Flat Number 402. It’s a bit of a journey up to the fourth floor, but the view of the neighborhood is actually quite nice from up there. Shaheen Bagh is always full of energy, with people moving around and shops open late. Inside the flat, things are a bit more relaxed. We have a couple of rooms set up with desks and chairs. It’s a foundation where we just try to help out with whatever is needed. We don't have any big corporate goals or fancy mission statements pasted on the walls. Mostly, we just have calendars and some photos of the work we’ve done over the months. The kitchen in the flat is where we spend a lot of time making tea and talking about what needs to happen next. It’s a comfortable place, not like those cold offices you see in the city center. We know our neighbors in Peace Apartment and they’re good people. Sometimes the electricity cuts out for an hour or two, but we just use that time to talk instead of typing. It’s a very human way of working. We’re just regular people trying to keep things going from our little flat in Jamia Nagar. It works for us.
