If you’re looking for the U And I Welfare Foundation, we are right here at H NO M-49 G/F in Batla House. Jamia Nagar is a busy place, but our ground floor spot is where we handle everything. It’s not a huge office, just a couple of rooms where we sit and figure things out. Sometimes the street outside gets noisy with all the rickshaws and people passing by, but we’re used to it by now. We started this because we saw things that needed doing in the area. We aren't experts at marketing or anything, so this probably sounds a bit plain. We just do the work. There’s usually someone drinking tea and looking over files. We try to keep the door open when we can. It’s mostly just neighbors helping neighbors. We don’t have a big fancy board of directors or anything like that. Just us. The address is easy to find once you get into the lanes of Batla House. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and talk until it comes back. It's a real place with real problems and real people. We don't pretend to be something we aren't.
