Thakur Leather House

Thakur Leather House is tucked away in Alaknanda, specifically at E 77D in Gangotri Enclave, near GK II. It’s a nice part of town, though it can get quite congested with parked cars on the weekends. Our shop is filled with leather items of all kinds. We have jackets hanging on the racks and bags sitting on the glass counters. The smell of the leather is the first thing people mention when they step inside. We’ve been here for a long time, and some of the locals have been coming to us since we first opened the place. It’s a small space, so we have to be careful about where we put things so customers can actually walk around. The lighting isn't the best, but it gives the place a warm, lived-in feel. We spend a lot of time cleaning the leather and making sure the zippers work. It’s just us running the place, so if we’re busy with someone, the others just have to wait a minute. We don't do any big promotions or flashy displays. We just put our items out and let people look at them. Sometimes we sit on the stools by the door and watch the people go by in the enclave. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when we get a big batch of new stock in. Then it's a mess of plastic wrap and cardboard for a few days. We like it here in this neighborhood.
