We’ve been tucked away at R-40 in South Extension Part II for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot, and there is always something going on outside our doors. Inside the shop, things are usually loud because of the metal work. Making vessels isn’t exactly a quiet job, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. Some of the guys have been here since the start, and we mostly just focus on getting the welding and the shaping right. You won't find a fancy showroom here. It’s a working space with scrap metal in the corners and the smell of hot steel hanging in the air. We keep a pot of tea going most of the day, especially when the weather gets a bit grey. Sometimes the traffic in South Ex makes deliveries a bit of a headache, but we manage to work around it. People stop by, usually looking for something specific, and we just talk through what needs doing. It’s not a corporate setup where everything is polished and shiny. Our floors have stains and the desks are covered in old drawings and notes. We just try to stay busy and make sure the vessels that leave here are solid. It’s simple work really, just cutting, bending, and joining until the job is done. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of the day is spent out on the floor with the tools and the metal.
