Down here in Sangam Vihar at Gill Farm, things are always a bit chaotic. Our office is in Pocket-A, at F2/41. We have been doing construction work for quite some time. Delhi is a tough place to build anything because of the heat and the dust. Most mornings we are up early to coordinate with the guys. It’s a lot of back and forth. We don't have a marketing team or someone to write fancy stuff for us. It’s just us doing the work. Usually, we are busy with small residential jobs or fixing up older buildings in the neighborhood. The office is small and tucked away. You have to navigate the narrow lanes to find us, but we like it here. It’s where we live and work. We deal with suppliers and try to get the best prices for stone and sand, though that’s getting harder lately. My brother and I run the show mostly. We talk to the clients directly. There isn't any middleman here. If there is a problem at a site, one of us goes down there and sorts it out. We don’t mind getting our hands dirty. That’s just part of the job. It is hard work, but it keeps us going. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years. New houses go up and old ones get torn down. We just keep doing our bit in the middle of it all. It’s a living.
