Site In Charge

My name is Ashis Kumar Sabat and I work as a site in charge. My home is in the B.M.K area of Giri Nagar, which is in Kalkaji, New Delhi. The pin code is 110019. Being the one in charge of a site means I have to handle everything that goes on there. It’s a lot of pressure because if something goes wrong, I’m the one who has to fix it. Delhi is a very busy city and getting from my home in Kalkaji to the different sites can take a long time. I spend most of my day on my feet, checking on the workers and the materials. I don't really like being stuck in an office. I prefer to be where the actual construction is happening. I’ve been doing this job for many years now, so I’ve seen all kinds of problems. My house in Giri Nagar is where I go to get some peace, but I’m often still taking calls about the work. It’s my responsibility to make sure the site is safe and that the project is moving forward. We don't do any flashy advertising or anything like that. People just know me as someone who gets the job done. It’s a tiring way to make a living, but I like seeing a building finally get finished. It’s just what I do for a living every day.
