About Sindhi Dry Fruits Mart – Food & Beverages in South Delhi
My family has been at shop number 69 in Lajpat Nagar Central Market for quite a while now. Most people around here know us just for the nuts and raisins we keep out on the counters. It gets really crowded in this part of the market, especially on weekends, but we just keep doing what we do. We stock everything from cashews to dried figs and some of those salted pistas people like for snacks. Usually, someone is here from morning until the market shuts down at night. The shop isn't huge, but we pack a lot of stuff into the shelves and glass jars. Sometimes the delivery trucks have trouble getting through the narrow lanes, but we manage to get the fresh stock in anyway. We don't really do much fancy stuff, just selling dry fruits to whoever walks in. People come by after their clothes shopping to pick up a bag of almonds or walnuts. It's a loud area with all the shouting and traffic, but that is just how Central Market is. We spend most of our day weighing things out on the scale and chatting with the regulars who have been coming to us for years. If you walk past the big garment shops, you’ll find us tucked in there. It’s a simple setup. We try to keep the bins full and the floor swept, though the dust from the street always finds its way in. It's just a regular local business and we are happy to be here.
