Shruti Sodhi Interior Designs

We are based over in Sainik Farms, right at W-6/B-12. Shruti Sodhi Interior Designs is mostly about figuring out how to make a room look better than it did before. It’s quiet out here compared to the rest of the city, which helps when we’re trying to think about colors or where a sofa should go. We spend a lot of time looking at fabrics and talking to carpenters. It isn't always glamorous; there's a lot of carrying heavy samples around and dealing with delays from vendors. We just try to make things work for the space we're given. Sometimes a client has a clear idea, and other times we have to suggest things they hadn't thought about. We aren't a huge firm with hundreds of people, so things feel a bit more personal. You might hear us arguing about a shade of paint or trying to find a specific type of light fixture that isn't out of stock. Being in Sainik Farms means we have some space to breathe, but we're always running around to different sites. It’s a lot of back and forth. We don't have a big corporate manual or anything like that. We just look at a house and try to figure out what would make it feel right for the people living there. Most days involve a lot of coffee and scrolling through catalogs. It’s how we’ve always done things here, and it seems to work out.
