Shiv Exim (India)

Being located at 149 Kilokari, right off the Ring Road, means we are always surrounded by the sound of traffic. Maharani Bagh is a busy part of town, and Shiv Exim (India) is right in the thick of it. The office is usually humming with the sound of the air conditioner trying to beat the afternoon heat. We spend our days dealing with a lot of shipping documents and coordination. It’s not the most exciting work, but it’s important to us. There are piles of folders on almost every surface. We use a lot of staples and paperclips. Sometimes the couriers are late because of a jam on the Ring Road, so we end up waiting around the entrance, looking at the cars go by. We have a small pantry where we keep the kettle. Most of us have been here for a few years, so we know the routine. We don’t have a dress code or anything like that. I usually wear a simple shirt and trousers. The floors are tiled and a bit worn down in the spots where we walk the most. In the afternoons, the sun hits the front windows really hard, so we have to pull the blinds down. It’s just a regular office doing regular trade work. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just make sure the numbers add up and the shipments get to where they need to go. It keeps us occupied and the days go by pretty fast.
