Sharddheya Nanaji Deshmukh Foundation

Our place is at 15, Adarshmarg, right in Chhatarpur. It’s a good location because people walk by all the time on their way to other things. Sharddheya Nanaji Deshmukh Foundation is basically just us in this small building on the corner. We have a few desks and some shelves filled with various things we’ve collected over the months. Chhatarpur is a place where everyone seems to know everyone else’s business, which is actually kind of helpful for us. We don't have to advertise what we do because word gets around naturally. Most mornings start with cleaning the front step because the dust from Adarshmarg settles everywhere overnight. We sit and have our morning tea while looking over the list of things to do. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We do what we can with the resources we have. Sometimes we run out of stationary or the internet goes down for a few hours, but we manage. We aren't some big city organization with a million employees. It’s just a handful of local people who wanted to see things get better in our own town. We don't use big words or have long meetings. We just talk about what’s needed and then go try to do it. The office is usually open until late afternoon unless we are all out on a project somewhere. It’s a plain, honest way to work, and it suits us just fine here in Chhatarpur. We keep things grounded and just keep moving forward.
