Sam Cottage Industries

We've been at C-126 in the lower ground floor of Lajpat Nagar-II for quite some time now. It’s a bit tucked away, but most people in the neighborhood know where we are. Dealing with cottage industries means there is always something going on, piles of materials here and there. It’s not the biggest space, but we make it work for what we do every day. Sometimes the light isn't the best down here, but we've got our routine down. Mostly, we just focus on getting the daily tasks finished without too much fuss. A few of us have worked together for years, so we don't really need to say much to get things moving. It gets loud when the machines are running, and the tea guy comes by twice a day which is usually the highlight of the afternoon. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just some desks, some old shelves, and the work we do. If you walk past the main market and head toward the residential blocks, you’ll find us easily enough. The stairs are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step. We just keep our heads down and try to keep up with the orders that come in. It’s a living, and it keeps us busy from morning until evening. Most of our tools have been around as long as I have. We don't change things unless they break. It is just the way we like it.
