S I R DESIGN HOUSE Pvt. Ltd. is based in the basement of B-95 in Dayanand Colony, over in Lajpat Nagar. Working out of a basement means it stays a bit cooler in the summer, which we appreciate. It is not a huge space, but it is enough for what we do. We focus on design work, mostly stuff for homes and offices. Our desks are usually covered in sketches and fabric samples. It is a bit of a creative mess, to be honest. We aren’t one of those high-end firms that charges a fortune for a logo. We’re just a small team of designers trying to make things look good. We’ve been in Lajpat Nagar for a while and we like the vibe here. It is always crowded and full of life. Sometimes we get stuck on a design idea for hours, drinking too much tea and trying to figure it out. That is just part of the process. We don’t use a lot of corporate jargon. We just talk like regular people about what might look nice in a room or on a piece of furniture. People find us because they live nearby or heard about us from a friend. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything. We just do our work, day in and day out. It is a steady job and we’re glad to be doing it in this neighborhood. We just take things as they come.
