Rouchdy Foundation

Rouchdy Foundation is up on the fourth floor of house number 380 in Jaitpur Extension Part 2. It’s a bit of a climb because there isn't an elevator, so we definitely get our exercise every single day. Badarpur is a crowded area, but once you get up to the fourth floor, it’s actually quite nice and you get a decent view of the rooftops nearby. We’ve been in this spot for a bit now, and while the stairs are a pain, the space itself is quiet enough for us to focus on our work. We don't have a lot of furniture—just the basics like chairs, tables, and a few cupboards for files. Most of our time is spent talking about how to help people in this part of town. It’s a very local operation. We don't have big funding or a fancy car; we mostly just use the local buses or walk around Jaitpur. The people around here are hardworking, and we try to match that energy in our own small way. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit by the window to use the natural light. It’s not a perfect office, but it’s ours. We handle everything ourselves, from cleaning the floors to answering the phone. It’s just a simple group of people trying to make things a little better for the neighborhood without making a big scene or using complicated corporate language.
