Retired Scientist

I live in a quiet flat at A-90 in South Extension II and most people here don't know I used to spend my days in a laboratory. Being a scientist was a big part of who I was for decades but now I'm just another person living in New Delhi. I have a lot of books and old journals scattered around my living room. I still like to keep up with what is happening in the world of science but I don't have the pressure of experiments or publishing anymore. My daily routine is quite simple and involves a lot of reading and walking. The neighborhood is nice and I have my favorite spots for coffee and newspapers. Sometimes I think about the projects I left behind but then I look at my small garden and I feel content. I don't really do much consulting because I want to keep my mind free for other things now. Life in South Ext II is busy but inside my home it is very peaceful. I enjoy the quiet moments the most. I don't have a big team or a lab to manage so I just manage myself. It took some time to get used to the silence but now I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm just a regular person enjoying the results of a long career. If you see me out walking I'm usually lost in thought about something or other. That is just how my mind works.
