If you walk into C-95 in Okhla Industrial Area, Phase-1, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell. It’s that heavy scent of ink and paper that never really leaves the building. R. V. Printing Press has been operating out of this spot for years. It’s loud in here because the machines are almost always running. We’ve got the big offset printers and the smaller digital ones, and they all make their own kind of racket. The floors are usually stained with a bit of ink, and there are stacks of paper everywhere you look. It’s not a clean office job; your hands are going to get dirty if you stay here long enough. We spend our time checking proofs and making sure the colors look right, which can be tricky depending on the light. Okhla is a busy industrial hub, so there’s always trucks loading and unloading right outside our door. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, especially when a big job comes in at the last minute. We don’t have any fancy brochures about ourselves because we’re too busy printing everyone else’s stuff. It’s a straightforward business. We take the files, we set the machines, and we produce the prints. Some days the machines break down and we have to fix them ourselves, but that’s part of the trade. We’re just a local press trying to keep the ink flowing.
