R C Kataria Nursery

R C Kataria Nursery has been sitting on Mathura Road for a long time now. We are right at House No 1 in Nizamuddin East. If you are driving by, we are directly opposite the police station, which is a good landmark because the traffic there can be quite a mess sometimes. The noise from the main road is constant, but once you step inside the gate, things feel a little quieter with all the trees around. We have all sorts of stuff here, from big palms to small flowering plants that people take for their gardens in Nizamuddin. It is a bit dusty because of the road, so we are always spraying down the leaves to keep them looking okay. The staff here has been around for years. We don't really do much in the way of fancy displays. The plants are just lined up in rows on the ground. We spend our mornings moving hoses around and making sure everything gets a drink before the sun gets too high. Delhi weather is tough on plants, so we lose a few here and there, but that’s just how it goes with a nursery. We aren't trying to be the biggest place in Delhi, just a steady spot where people can pick up some soil or a new shrub. It’s a simple life, mostly just dealing with dirt and water every day.
