Qutab Service Station

Qutab Service Station is situated at 87 Badarpur Tajpur Road, not far from the Indian Oil petrol pump. It’s a typical roadside spot where things are always a bit dusty and greasy. We spend our days under cars or leaning over engines with a wrench in hand. There’s always the smell of petrol and old oil around the place. We have a few bays for the vehicles and a small area where we keep our tools and spare parts. It’s loud because of the air compressors and the traffic going by on Tajpur Road. We don't have a fancy waiting room with a TV; people usually just stand around or sit on a plastic chair while we take a look at their vehicle. It’s honest, manual work. Our hands are almost always black with soot by the end of the shift. We don’t try to act like we are some high-end showroom. We just fix the leaks, change the oil, and make sure the tires are okay. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work, like when it rains and the ground gets muddy, but we manage. We’ve been here a long time and have seen all kinds of cars and bikes come through. It’s just what we do every day to keep things moving for the local folks. We close up when the sun goes down and start again the next morning.
