Puloma Studio

Lajpat Nagar is always a bit of a maze with all the shoppers and the stalls everywhere. Our place at A 94 is right in the middle of that energy. We started this studio because we wanted a space to create things. It’s mostly photography and some design work, depending on what people are asking for that week. The room is usually filled with the sound of a fan humming and someone clicking away on a mouse. We have these big windows but we usually keep the curtains closed to control the lighting for the shots. It’s not like those big corporate studios you see in movies. It’s a bit more lived-in. There’s always a half-empty cup of tea sitting somewhere and piles of paper that we swear we are going to file away tomorrow. People from the neighborhood drop in to get passport photos or to ask about bigger shoots for their kids. We’ve been in this spot long enough that we know the other shopkeepers and the guys selling snacks on the corner. It’s a good community to be part of. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. We just keep the door open and do the work that comes in. Every day is a bit different which is probably why we like being here so much despite the crazy Lajpat Nagar traffic and the noise outside.
