Public Works Department (Pwd)

We are located over at Chauhan Mohalla in Madanpur Khadar. If you know the Ab Lincon Kindergarten, we are right there at number 346, near the Bar-Ka-Per area. Being part of the Public Works Department in this part of New Delhi keeps us on our toes. Sarita Vihar is a busy place and there’s always a pipe leaking or a walkway that needs attention. Our office is pretty simple. We have some desks, a few old filing cabinets, and people coming in and out with mud on their boots. It’s not a quiet place. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations or anything like that. We’re just here to do the work. A lot of our day is spent coordinating with the crews out on the streets. Sometimes we have to deal with the heavy traffic and the heat, which makes the work go slower than we’d like. We don’t have any big mission statements. We just try to get the repairs done so people can get to work and the kids can get to school without trouble. It’s a lot of small tasks that add up. Some days we feel like we are making progress and other days the to-do list just gets longer. That’s just how it goes in a big city like this. We are just regular people doing a necessary job for the neighborhood. No frills, just lots of practical work.
