Down at 21, Ajit Arcade on Kailash Colony Road, you’ll find Popular Motor Agencies. It’s a busy spot, especially with all the cars moving in and out of the area throughout the day. We’ve got a decent amount of space here, but it always feels a bit cramped once the inventory starts piling up near the entrance. The floor has some old oil stains that won't ever come out, no matter how much we scrub them with soap. We aren't much for fancy decorations or waiting rooms with big television sets. We mostly just have some metal chairs and a desk that’s covered in invoices and parts catalogs. The air usually smells like a mix of rubber tires and old grease, which is just how a place like this should be, I guess. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or looking for parts that aren't in stock. It’s loud sometimes because of the traffic on the road right outside our door. Everyone who works here has been around cars for a long time, so we don't need a manual for every little thing anymore. We try to keep the door open to let some air in, even when it’s hot out in the summer. It’s a straightforward shop. We get in early, we work through the pile of orders, and we close up when the sun goes down. It’s nothing special to look at, but it gets the job done for the people who come by.
