Being up on the fifth floor of the International Trade Tower in Nehru Place means we see a lot of the city. Our office at 501 is usually filled with glass samples and stacks of folders. Nehru Place is always moving, and you can hear the horns from down below even this high up. We deal with a lot of glass orders throughout the day at Pilkington Glass India Pvt. Ltd. It’s mostly phone calls and looking at spreadsheets to see where everything is supposed to go. The air conditioning hums in the background, which is a relief when the Delhi heat really starts hitting the windows. We aren't a retail shop where you walk in to buy a mirror; it’s more about the logistics of getting glass where it needs to be. The hallways in the tower are long and sometimes the elevators take forever, especially around lunch. We usually have our tea at our desks while sorting through emails. It’s a professional enough setup, but it feels lived-in. There are calendars marked up with delivery dates and boxes of samples that probably need a good dusting. You can tell we’ve been here a bit. The desks are a bit cluttered with pens and rulers. It’s just a regular group of people keeping the glass business moving from a busy corner of the city. We don't make a big fuss about things, we just stay on top of the orders.
