Paper Store

We are located on the ground floor over in Shahpur Jat, right near the Dda flats. The area is full of narrow lanes and small shops, so finding 125-A can be a bit tricky the first time you visit. Inside, it’s mostly just stacks of different paper. We have thick sheets, thin ones, and some with textures. It is not a fancy showroom. There are pallets on the floor and samples hanging on the walls. Most of our day at Paper Store is spent cutting paper to size or packing orders for people in the neighborhood. Some designers come in looking for something specific for their projects. We talk about weights and colors. It gets a bit dusty with all the paper fibers in the air. We keep a kettle in the corner for tea. The shop doesn't have a lot of windows, so we keep the lights on all day. It’s a practical workspace. We aren't trying to be anything more than a place that sells paper. Sometimes the delivery truck can't get into the lane, so we have to carry boxes from the main road. It’s hard work but it keeps us going. We know the other shopkeepers around here. It feels like a small community. We keep track of everything in a big ledger book. If you need paper, this is where we work every day from ten in the morning until seven in the evening.
