Nanki Devi Charitable Foundation

Nanki Devi Charitable Foundation is based in Najafgarh, right in Gupta Market. We have a spot on the ground floor at Plot 99-C, Khosra 26/3. Being on the ground floor is lucky because the market gets so crowded and people can just step inside when they need a break or some help. We aren't a big operation. It’s just a few of us who grew up around here. We don't have any fancy degrees in social work or anything. We just learned how to help by actually doing it. Most days involve listening to people’s problems and seeing if we can find a solution. It might be finding some clothes for a family or helping someone understand a difficult form. We don't have a lot of resources, so we have to be smart about how we use what we have. The office is small and usually full of donated items and old paperwork. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. We don't bother with marketing or big speeches. We just like to stay busy and help our neighbors. If you’re walking through Gupta Market, you’ll probably see us. We’ve been here long enough that most people know who we are. It’s just practical, everyday work for the community. We don't make it more complicated than it needs to be.
