Musaidah Foundation

We are up on the fourth floor of building C-7 in the Jogabai Extension. This is right in Jamia Nagar, Okhla, which is a really busy part of South Delhi. Musaidah Foundation has been operating from this fourth-floor spot for a while now. There’s no elevator, so we all get a bit of a workout every time we come into work or head out for lunch. The streets below are always full of people, rickshaws, and food stalls. It’s a very lively area to be in. Our office is just a simple room with some windows looking out over the rooftops of Okhla. We don't have any expensive furniture or anything like that. It’s just some sturdy desks and a lot of folders. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the summer because we’re so high up, but we have a couple of fans that keep the air moving. We spend our days answering phones and writing things down. It’s a very human way of working. We know the people in the building and the shopkeepers downstairs. We aren't some big nameless corporation; we’re just a small foundation tucked away in a busy neighborhood. If you can make it up the stairs, you’ll find us just doing our daily tasks like everyone else, trying to stay on top of the work that comes our way.
