If you look under the flyover in Defence Colony, you’ll find the market where we’re located at number 33. It’s a bit of a strange spot because the traffic is constantly humming right above our heads, but we’ve gotten used to the vibration over time. The shop itself isn't very big, so we have to use every inch of space from the floor right up to the ceiling. We deal with all sorts of goods coming in and out, which means there are always crates and boxes blocking the walkway. It’s not a polished corporate environment by any means; the walls have some scuffs and the desk is cluttered with pens and old receipts. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or checking over lists to make sure everything is where it should be. Sometimes it gets a bit dark in the back, so we have to use a flashlight to find specific items. People who come to the market often stop in just to see what we have new that week. It’s a lot of manual work and staying on top of the paperwork, but we like the energy of being right in the middle of the market action. There’s a small tea stall nearby that we visit a few times a day. It’s just a simple, busy life under the flyover here in Defence Colony. We have to be careful with the low ceiling in some parts of the shop.
