Madras Felt & Hardware

Madras Felt & Hardware is located at 33 Sembudoss Street. We are up on the first floor. It’s an old building, the kind you see all over this part of the city. The stairs are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you’re coming up. We’ve been here for a long time. Sembudoss Street is always packed with people and carts moving goods around. It’s a very traditional commercial area. Inside, it’s mostly rolls of felt and different hardware items stacked up. We don’t have a lot of room for a fancy office, so everything is pretty cramped. But we know where everything is. The 1st floor gives us a little bit of a break from the noise of the street, but you can still hear the horns and the shouting. We aren't a corporate giant; we’re just a small outfit. Most of our day is spent helping people find specific sizes or types of hardware. It’s dusty work sometimes. We don't have air conditioning, just some fans that keep the air moving. It’s a simple setup. If you walk down Sembudoss Street, look for number 33. We’re just one flight up. It’s been our base for years, and we don't plan on moving. It’s honest work in a busy neighborhood. We just take each order as it comes and try to stay organized in the middle of all the hardware.
