Being in Okhla Phase III means you are surrounded by factories and workshops. It’s a bit of a maze back here. We do a lot of the electrical and engineering work right from this spot at number 159. The floors are usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or wire scraps. It’s loud because of the machines running in the background, but you get used to it after a week. We have a small team here. Most of the guys have been with us for years and they know the equipment better than anyone. We aren't doing anything flashy. It's just about getting the parts fixed or the machines running like they should. The summer heat in the shed can be quite something, so we keep the fans going all day. There is always a delivery truck trying to back into the narrow lane outside. We spend our mornings looking at drawings and the afternoons actually putting things together. If something breaks down, someone usually comes running in here looking for a quick fix. We try to help out when we can. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down. There isn’t much time for sitting around. We just focus on the job at hand and make sure the tools are back in their places at the end of the shift. We usually have our lunch together in the small room near the back.
