Our office is located at 8 Balaji Estate, right on Guru Ravidas Marg in Kalkaji. If you know this part of Delhi, you know how hectic the traffic can get near the main road. Li & Fung (India) has been operating out of this building for some time now. It’s a busy place with people always carrying folders or looking at computer screens. We deal with a lot of stuff related to sourcing and supply chains, which basically means we spend our whole day talking to factories and checking on orders. The space is filled with desks and there are always stacks of fabric swatches and garment samples lying on the tables. It can get a bit cluttered, especially when a big shipment is coming through. We have a small pantry where the coffee machine usually breaks down once a week, but we just get it fixed and keep going. The windows look out onto the street, so we see the cycle rickshaws and cars buzzing by all day. It’s not the quietest place to work, but the energy keeps us awake. We don't really do the whole corporate suit-and-tie thing every day; it's more about getting the job done and making sure the logistics don't fall apart. Most of us have been here long enough to know the best lunch spots around Kalkaji. It’s a practical environment where we just focus on the task at hand.
