Our office is in a house, number 372, in the Devli area of New Delhi. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it feels a bit more like a home than a corporate office. We like it that way. It’s less formal. We’ve converted a couple of the rooms into workspaces where we keep all our project files and equipment. Devli is a busy area, but our street is mostly just families and other small businesses. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. We don’t have a receptionist or a waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us sitting around a large table covered in blueprints and notes. We spend a lot of time on our mobile phones, talking to suppliers and site managers. The kitchen is where we all gather to take a break. It’s a very hands-on environment. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with a sleek office. We just want a place where we can focus on our contracting work without too many distractions. The commute for some of us is a bit long, but we’ve gotten used to the New Delhi traffic. It’s just part of the job. We keep things simple and honest here. We are just a group of workers trying to keep the projects moving. It's not a fancy life, but it works for us and our clients.
