Krishnawanti Ramprakash Nagpalcharitable Foundation

Our foundation is over at 2A Basant Vihar. It’s a pretty long name, Krishnawanti Ramprakash Nagpalcharitable Foundation, so we usually just call it the foundation when we are talking among ourselves. The address in Basant Vihar is a quiet one. It’s a residential sort of area, so we try not to make too much noise. The office is actually just a small house that we’ve converted into a workspace. It still feels like a home, with a kitchen in the back where we make lunch every day. We have a few rooms filled with supplies and files. There’s a small garden out front that we try to keep tidy, though the weeds sometimes get ahead of us during the monsoon. We spend our days mostly coordinating with people over the phone or meeting local folks who come by. We aren't a big operation with lots of funding or fancy equipment. We just use what we have to help out where it’s needed in the neighborhood. It’s a very personal way to work. You get to know the people you are helping quite well. Sometimes we sit on the porch and discuss things instead of staying inside at the desks. It’s more relaxed that way. We don't have a lot of corporate structure or management levels. We just decide what needs to be done and then someone goes and does it. It’s worked for us so far, and we like the peace and quiet of Basant Vihar. It feels like we're doing honest work every single day.
