About Kashmir Dry Fruits – Food & Beverages in South Delhi
Kashmir Dry Fruits is our little shop located in the Alaknanda DDA Flats, at J 348. We deal mostly in walnuts, almonds, and other things that come from up north. The shop isn’t very large, it is basically just one room packed with sacks and glass jars. You can smell the raisins and the dried apricots the moment you step inside J 348. I spend a lot of my day weighing things on the old scale and tying up plastic bags with jute string. The Alaknanda area is mostly residential, so we see the same people every week. It is a quiet spot compared to the main city markets. Sometimes the light inside the shop is a bit dim because the bulbs are old, but you can see how the nuts look just fine. I keep the floors clean, but a bit of shell or dust always finds its way down from the sacks. We do not have a website or any of that stuff. If people want something, they just walk over from their flats in the evening. We have been here long enough that people trust the name Kashmir Dry Fruits. My father started this and now I just keep it going. It is a simple life. I sit on my wooden stool, drink some tea, and wait for the neighbors to come by for their snacks. It is not a big business, just a small corner in Alaknanda for the locals.
